  1. For information, Seeking Alpha is great! One note though, if you are a prospective author there, you’ll be facing some bias from the editors against the recurring authors and groups. One example: you do an extensive article on Alphabet covering financials, prospects, risks etc. and you use hours of work into it. If this is your first article, it will face much more scrutiny from editors for obvious reasons, and the editors might deem the article unworthy and that it ”doesn’t give extra value for readers as the stock is very well covered all ready”. Then, after a day or two, some recurring author might publish a less detailed article about the same stock. Focus your first articles on your strong circle of competency and favourably less covered stocks to give that ”value” for readers. Also, proofread your articles several times because the editors will be ruthless when checking first-timers. Don’t get discouraged if your article gets sent back and work on your mistakes to get better!

  2. You will get SA usually for 39$ at the end of the year. That is the time to buy with MoS – Svens Link is overpriced.

    1. thanks for sharing, my offer will be in line with the SA offer, thus if that way, will be so too:-)

  3. I’ve not monetarily benefited from my subscription. I’ve wondered if I use the website properly. Diversity of opinions there. Sometimes sage advice. Interesting from an idle curiosity perspective.

  4. Hey Sven!
Don’t you think 20 years of data is more beneficial or even mendatory? Since the last 10 years were great.
What platforms are good and gives 20(/+) years of financials?

    Thank you:)

    1. most businesses were different, not really comparable, but then again, you can also check that by looking at the annual reports!

  5. My personal opinion is that all these websites are over priced. It’s like they all view people as cash cores that can be milked to no end. What is even more obnoxious is that many of the don’t allow for monthly subscriptions and the ones that do make you really pay a lot extra to do so.

The only benefit I see is for those that like to read financial news, ideas etc. If entertainment is the goal the why not. Whatever floats your boat. I’ve got access to most of this stuff through work and it wouldn’t cross my mind to pay for it myself.

  6. Thank you for the Seeking Alpha review. I’ve been wondering about whether it is worth the money and I am continuing for now. The worth for me is for ideas and to learn about various issues I may be unaware of. As you mentioned, there are a variety of views and I haven’t found anybody to blindly follow their advice.

Do you have any thoughts on the Seeking Alpha ratings? Authors, Wall Street and Quant with industry and sector breakdowns. Sometimes this seems helpful – sometimes not so sure.
    Thanks.

  7. Thank you for the perspective. I’ve get a lot of bait links to SA and I often would like to read the article, but I’m already subscribed to Morningstar. If I have a question I guess it would be what is your opinion of the analyst on MS ? SA would seem to provide a much wider selection of opinions to weigh, but with less oversight (I see they do have picky editors in another comment, but I wonder about the difference in goals between SA and MS).

    1. Morningstar gives good analyses and information, sistematized, but usually only on the bigger names. I use both, so couldn’t say which is better!

  8. Hi Sven,
Thanks a lot for your videos. Could you imagine making a sectoral video about the paper packaging industry and analyse some companies in that field also under consideration of ESG/ ban of plastics?
    Thanks a lot again!

  9. I signed up for SA earlier this year, only paid $40 at the time. Not sure if I’m going to renew next year.
