Beating The Market

Since retiring (1/3/17) and the time the book was written (9/30/20), the CAGR of the S&P 500 was 11.2%, DJIA 9.1%, Nasdaq 21.2%, and Nasdaq 100 27.8%. Mike Yuen’s portfolio performance was 39.2%, and this was after withdrawing the cash required each year to cover taxes and living expenses.

Early Retirement Clubs

In 2017, only 2.17% of Americans between the ages of 50-54 were retired, just 0.29% of those aged 45-49 were retired, and a mere 0.13% of those aged 40-44.
